Our history

It's worth knowing!

SAG Sp. z o. o. is a modern company running its production-service-trade activities focusing chiefly on mining and industry sectors. The Company commenced its business activities in 1991 as SAG Wytwórnia Lin Stalowo – Gumowych Sp. z o.o. (Rubber and Steel Rope Manufacturing Co. Ltd). In the beginning 51% of the shares were owned by the Austrian TRADEPOL Company when the remaining 49% of the shares were in possession of the Wieczorek Coal Mine. The legal successor of the mine became the Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A. (Katowice Coal Holding, Public Company), and in 1997 the Marchart & Lackner GmbH Company became the owner of the Austrian shares. In 2008 shares of the Austrian company were purchased by the Fabryka Taśm Transporterowych Wolbrom S.A. Company that became a new shareholder.

1991

Beginnings in mining

From the very beginning we have been producing, among others, SAG type flat rubber & steel balance ropes, which are a pride and a unique achievement that guarantees recognition all over the world.

In the last century, our innovative and extremely durable SAG type flat rubber & steel balance ropes were the most important product in our offer. With the changing market, the entry into the European Union and the emergence of new development opportunities, this situation began to change over time.

2001

A decade of intensive development

The beginning of the 21st century is for SAG Sp. z o. o. intensive development, designing new products, introducing them to the market and entering new markets.

We are one of the largest producers of rollers used in belt conveyors. We have developed and produced the most energy-efficient “ECO”- smooth, garland, ring, disc and directional rollers on the market .

In addition, we specialize in the construction of structures, belt conveyors and steel shaft constructions. We have a repair department that specializes in the repairs of control hydraulics and suspensions.

2012

A new beginning

The company’s name was changed to SAG Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością on February 8th, 2012. Since then, we have been intensively developing our business, implementing modern technologies and ensuring their high quality, thanks to which our products enjoy great recognition among customers – both in the country, as well as abroad.

Regardless of the development of our existing product lines, we intensively explore new areas and try to make the best use of the knowledge and skills of our employees. Thanks to this, we have completed many unique and extremely ambitious projects, such as the construction of central tram sections for Tramwaje Śląskie S.A. and the design and creation of carports for charging electric cars.

2023

Investments in innovation

The introduction of new products to the market and the expansion of production lines have required us to expand the construction production hall and build a new rollers’ production hall.

Taking care of the environment, we have invested in photovoltaic panels, thanks to which we obtain 30% of our electricity demand from the sun. We have also designed and manufactured Carports for charging electric vehicles.

In 2023, we purchased a number of modern machines, including a turning machine, a milling machine, CNC lathe, a laser burner, a press brake and an automatic circular saw. Thanks to the innovative machine park, we are able to meet even the most demanding challenges.

Each next step means new markets and new successes

We are constantly developing, always ensuring that our products are the best. This is also appreciated by companies from Germany and Austria, for whom attention to quality is an absolute priority. Thanks to this, we are one of the few Polish companies that introduce their products there.

We act charitably

We are not indifferent

For many years, our company SAG Sp. z o.o. has been financially supporting public benefit organizations, such as: Social Society Hospice Cordis – one of the largest stationary hospices in Europe, located near our headquarters, Upper Silesian Children’s Health Center (Górnośląskie Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka), the Foundation Offer the Heart (Ofiaruj Serce) and the Rehabilitation, and Education Center in Katowice.

We took part in the nationwide Noble Parcel campaign, supporting families in a difficult life and material situation.

SAG Sp. z o.o. was also one of the sponsors of the Christmas Eve for the poor and homeless organized by the parish of St. Anna in Katowice-Nikiszowiec.
